Wage and Hour Protections

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act we are guaranteed the minimum wage and overtime at time-and-a-half after forty hours of work. The Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour division is responsible for enforcing the laws pertaining wage theft. Teamster Power in Action: Paycheck Protection Under the First Student NMA

Under the First Student National Master Agreement, Teamster bus workers are protected by wage theft thanks to paycheck protection provisions. These provisions impose penalties on First Student yards that do not correct payroll errors within 48 hours, creating an incentive for managers to get payroll errors fixed in a timely manner.
