Supporting Military Families

The Teamsters Military Assistance Program (TMAP) assists Active Duty Service members that are transitioning, Veterans and Military spouses with job opportunities with responsible employers. As part of the Carry Our Future Campaign, The Teamsters Military Assistance Program (TMAP) has teamed up with the U.S. Military and FirstGroup America, the nation’s largest bus company to create job opportunities for soldiers and their families with FirstGroup America.

Teamster FirstGroup America contracts are some of the strongest in the industry featuring:

  • Free CDL training provided by the company
  • Ride-alongs for children over 18 months old
  • Transfer opportunities to over 700 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Helping service members obtain good jobs at our companies is a win-win for everyone, particularly given the shortage of school bus drivers, and is the right thing to do for our veterans and their families.

FirstGroup America will be joining the portfolio of Teamster companies that currently provide employment transition assistance to veterans, including ABF Freight, which is working to help soldiers become union truck drivers and fill needed jobs.
