German Unions Express Concerns Over National Express

National Express (NEX), parent company to Durham School Services in the U.S., has opened an office in Germany and announced plans for expansion in that country. The Teamsters engaged the two German unions who represent ground transport workers (ver.di and EVG) informing them about NEX’s anti-union behavior in the U.S.

In Memoriam, Steve Edwards

The Teamsters Union is saddened to announce the passing of Steve Edwards. Steve was a strategic researcher, campaigner and a key member of the union’s successful global school bus campaign. Steve passed away after a sudden and brief illness on December 3. He was 61 years old.

Durham Driver Speaks Out At Global Conference

Cheryl Orzech had come a long way. The 17-year school bus driver was a driver for Durham School Services, until she was fired for working to form a union with the Teamsters.

Illinois Central School Bus Workers Join Teamsters Local 777

(WASHINGTON) – The men and women who transport schoolchildren for Illinois Central School Bus in University Park, Ill., have voted, 50-35, in favor of Teamster representation. The 97 new members of Teamsters Local 777 in Lyons, Ill., join a recent wave of workers voting to become Teamsters at the company. Read more.
